Trips To Australia
2002 Easter Trip
It started with 10 students, “ guinea pigs” who revealed
to us all that young people could rise to a challenge. So in March 2002,
the first “ Oz Experience” team left for Australia- none
of us having done anything like this before! What an adventure! We flew
to Melbourne and did our first visit to the Children’s Hospital,
went on the Puffing Billy trip and then off to join CVA.
Two very special people came into our lives at that moment - Travis and Jo. What fab people- they introduced us to the fabulous conservation work CVA does every day and boy did we work! The group were based on Philip Island and for the first time we changed the face of conservation work forever.
Then it was off to Sydney- the first of many adventures- a Harbour Cruise;
a visit to the Jewish Museum and the first Bridge Climb. It was all
rounded off with a great meal at the Hard Rock Café.
These pilgrims did us proud... the 2002 Easter team…we are very grateful for your participation…you are stars!
